A dab here, a dab there, a pause to survey her work. I laid on my belly in the grass & watched my littlest carefully slather her knees in blue paint. She’s usually screaming in delight in her messes – spaghetti sauce, playing in the hose, jumping in muddy puddles – but this was more muted. She waved her paintbrush at me like it was a magic wand & I waved back from behind my camera.
The photos of her playing in messy paint were taken at the end of her birthday shoot to let her expend some (never ending) energy. I half expected squirts of paint squeezed from the bottle or dumping it in the grass & stomping in it but she surprised me.
What would your kid do?
I’m looking for volunteers to get messy.
Here are the specifics:
This is a personal photography project, so there is no charge.
Open to kids no older than 10 years old.
Sessions are short & sweet lasting about 30 min.
Parents would need to sign a model release.
I am open to travel within reason.
Yes, I would send you a digital of one of my favorites!
Kid-safe paint… a jar of nutella… a puddle of mud… a bowl of spaghetti… a tub of ice cream… I’m open to suggestions.
